New York, NY (CNN) — The Pilgrims of the New York City area have said prayers for the New Year will be held at the New Amsterdam Church of Christ in Brooklyn.
The Rev. Andrew C. Cone, pastor of the church in the boroughs New York boroughs Bronx, Bronx Park, Brownsville, Bushwick and Brooklyn Heights, said the prayers will be given in English, but in Arabic, which is the native language of the Pilgrimbans, and will be in English.
The Pilgrim group was founded in 1514 by Thomas More and is considered a Protestant denomination.
The congregation has no official religion and no specific dogma.
