Juve are looking to find their new coach after losing to Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday.
They were held to a 0-0 draw at the Stadio Olimpico, leaving them four points behind leaders Juventus in the standings.
The Bianconeri have been in the Europa League semi-finals in recent years, but this season have been unable to win.
“I am very pleased with the team, but it’s a difficult time to coach,” Juve president Aurelio De Laurentiis said on Wednesday.
“We have lost some games and had a difficult week in Italy.
We need to improve and make a few mistakes, and I am happy with the way we have been playing.” He added: “It’s a great opportunity to find new people and the coach we want will be a good fit.”
The Nerazzurri have a record of 10 consecutive Serie A victories, but De Laurentieis admitted they have not been able to replicate the dominance of Juventus in recent seasons.
He said: “[It’s] a difficult moment.
I am not here to judge our performance or our opponents.
If you ask me about Juventus, the answer is not ‘we won’.
I want to say that the players did their job, the team was competitive, and we were the best team in the world.
But the fans have to make the choice for them, not for me.
Juve have been very strong in recent times.
It’s not easy to beat us.
The last 10 years have been fantastic.
This season was very hard, but we had a few chances, a few good ones, but they were not enough.”
De Laurentiise added that he did not think the current squad would be able to cope with the pressure of a Champions League exit, which would leave them with no room to grow.
At this stage, he feels that his team has the talent to beat the other teams in the competition, and that he has no doubt they can do it.
